What type of wood do you use?

Round Slice of Scripture wall art is made from natural edge slices of paulownia trees, a fast-growing and durable hardwood species found primarily in eastern Asia. Rectangular plaques and signs are made from various hardwoods such as oak, often reclaimed from discarded industrial pallets.

Are art pieces considered fragile?

While the wood itself is extremely durable and resistant to splits and cracks, pieces should always be handled with care because bark edges can be knocked off in pieces. The safest place for any Slice of Scripture is always hanging on the wall.

How do I hang my Slice of Scripture?

Pieces are crafted for easy hanging with any screw, nail or pushpin, using the horizontal keyhole slot on the back. The sturdiest method of hanging is using a screw in a stud, but with round pieces weighing <1/2 lb, they are easily and securely supported in drywall alone.

As plaques and hardwood signs are a bit heavier (up to 2 pounds), it is a good idea to hang them on a stud. The horizontal keyhole allows for precise lateral adjustment to ensure your piece is correctly oriented.
