What type of wood do you use?
Slice of Scripture wall art is made from slices of paulownia trees, a fast-growing and durable hardwood species found primarily in eastern Asia. In the future, we hope to add other hardwood options such as locally-sourced Missouri black walnut.
Are art pieces considered fragile?
While the wood itself is extremely durable nad resistant to splits and cracks, pieces should always be handled with care because bark edges can be knocked off in pieces. The safest place for a Slice of Scripture is always hanging on the wall.
How do I hang my Slice of Scripture?
Pieces are crafted for easy hanging with any screw, nail or pushpin, using the horizontal keyhole slot on the back. The sturdiest method of hanging is using a screw in a stud, but with each piece weighing <1/2 lb, they are easily and securely supported in drywall alone. The horizontal keyhole allows for precise lateral adjustment to ensure your piece is correctly oriented.

Is it possible to get smaller or larger rounds?
Certainly! Our personal preference is the 8-9 inch paulownia round, but we can create pieces as small as 3 inches in diameter. These are great as Christmas ornaments, party favors, office decorations and more. Alternately, we can make pieces as large as 12-13 inches in diameter when wood is available.
